Timothy Roy McDonald

Mr. Timothy Roy McDonald, 61, a resident of Elkins departed this life Sunday May 26, 2024, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. He had been in usual health but death was unexpected due to a massive heart attack.

He was born Sept. 11, 1962 at Philippi, West Virginia, a son of Roy Lee and Ruby Jean Wagner McDonald.

On Oct. 17, 1981, he was united in marriage to the former Brenda Joyce Kepner, who survives at their home in Elkins.

Left to cherish his memory are a son, Joshua Roy McDonald and wife, Jennifer, of Glady; a daughter; Tosha Joyce McDonald Lantz and husband, Tommy, of Aransas Pass, Texas; two sisters, Melody Jean Simmons and husband, Eddie, of the Beaver Creek Community and Anita Lee Simmons and husband, Joey, of Mabie. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren; Levi, Waylon, Quinton, McKinley, Camden, Maverick, Hunter, Bella and Laura; four nephews; Ben, Elijah, Korey and Jeremy, two nieces, Courtney and Jennifer. Also surviving are several great-nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law; Beth Coger and husband, Junior, of Elkins; and a father-in-law; Kenny Kepner of Elkins.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law; Rosa Lee Kepner; and one brother-in-law, Kenneth "Buddy" Kepner; and one nephew; Nathaniel Simmons.

Tim was a graduate from the Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1980 and was self-employed owning and operating Tim's Floor Care for many years. He was a member of the Barbour Church of Christ.

Tim was also an avid hunter, and fisherman and loved going camping at Gandy. In the spring time he enjoyed being in the woods and going mushroom hunting. He loved his family very much and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Thursday May 30, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. and again on Friday May 31, 2024, from 8-11 a.m. at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Joey Simmons officiating with cremation to follow.
