Blanche "Susie" Irene Howell Cote, 78, a resident of Valley Bend, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Susie was born Oct. 12, 1945, a daughter of the late George Howell Sr. and Bessie Mae Owens Howell. On April 25, 1986, in Elkins, Susie married Richard "Dick" Francis Cote, who survives at home.
Also left to cherish her memory are three children, Brenda Hooten of Valley Bend, Rebecca Burns (Gabby) of Valley Bend and Robert Brewster; four grandchildren, Brittney Chamberlain (Justin), Jessica Currence (Timothy), Amy Harris (Randall) and William Brewster; 12 great-grandchildren, Milo Rose, Kolt, J.J. and Zayne Chamberlain, Abigail and Isaiah Harris, Nicholas, Aspen and Nash Currence, Easton, Chole and Blake Brewster; one brother, Charles Howell (Alice); one special sister-in-law, Deanna Howell; a very special niece that was raised as her sister, Wanda Morrison (Terry) and their two, sons Brian (Tracy) and Matthew Morrison; one very special great-niece, Madison Morrison; two extra special neighbors, Diane and Wayne Cash; and a very special friend, Tim Wilson.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was one sister, Georgia Cross; and five brothers, Paul, Lewis, Lloyd, George "Buck" and David Howell.
Sue had worked at Reidbord Bros., South Elkins Lumber Co., managed the Village Market in Lewisburg, Tennessee, and other jobs throughout her life. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending community events.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., the funeral hour.
Susie's request for cremation will then be honored.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Susie's name to the American Lung Association, National Direct Response PO Box 756 Osceola WI 54020-0756 or the charity of your choice.
