Delmas Dale Reckart

Reckart

Delmas Dale Reckart, 79, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, under the care of Mountain Hospice.

He was born on Aug. 5, 1944, in Turner Douglas, West Virginia, a son of the late Fuller and Mearl Summers Reckart.

On June 15, 1968, at Rowlesburg, West Virginia, he married Donna Kay Nine, who survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, LaDonna Reckart Rosencrance and husband, Mark, and one son, Scott Dale Reckart and wife, JoAnna McVey Reckart.

Dale had five grandchildren he adored, Kaylee Rosencrance and her fiancee, Hannah Cross, Alex Rosencrance and his partner, Peter Laurin, Jazmyn McVey and her partner, Amanda Burns, Josh Reckart and his fiancee, Abby Kaposy, and Shane McVey and his girlfriend, Gracie Metheny.

Dale's surviving sisters are Alberta Jean Sonnemann, Florence Friend, Gloria Foy, JoAnn Reckart and Nancy Bennett and her husband, Rick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willard "Bud" Reckart, Darrell E. Reckart and Robert "Bob" Reckart; and five sisters, Virginia Roy, Hazel Noyes, Opal Roy, Edna Shaffer and Kayron Reckart.

Also preceding him in death was his very special fishing buddy, Paul Gray.

Dale was a graduate of Terra Alta High School and was a member of the Army Reserve.

He retired in 2012 from Reckart Equipment Company where he served as the Foreman of the Fabrications Department for almost 50 years.

Prior to Reckart Equipment he worked at Uphole Logging.

Dale loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand and he was the best Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend anyone could every ask for. In his free time, he enjoyed attending auctions and going to the YMCA. He had a strong work ethic and believed if you start a job, you must finish it.

Dale's request for cremation has been honored.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
