Miloslav "Milan" Nypl, 75, a resident of Canaan Valley, West Virginia, departed this life Friday, June 21, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side, and under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice.
He was born Friday, Oct. 29, 1948, at Czechoslovakia, Nova' Paka, a son of the late Miloslav Nypl and Ruzena Rose Nyplova'.
Surviving are one son, James Douglas Light and wife, Carol, of Colts Neck, New Jersey; two daughters, Judith Koontz Harris and husband, David, of Asheville, North Carolina, and Robin Gayle Estep and husband, Jerry, of Wheeling, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Colleen Patrice Miller and husband, Mark, Sean Douglas Light, Patrick James Light and Jackson Wade Harris; two great-grandchildren, Ryan James Miller and Landon Mark Miller; and special friend, Renee DiBacco of Thomas, West Virginia.
He attended the schools of Czechoslovakia.
In 1969, when the war started and during his last year of Veterinary School, his mother arranged his escape to America. He attended WV State University and obtained a business administration degree and later became a CPA and a Business Evaluator. Milan had worked at Ray Resources in Charleston, West Virginia, he then owned and operated an accounting firm in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
In 1994, he moved to Canaan Valley and began working for Cooper & Preston Accounting Firm, and then in 1996, he began working for George Scott which later became Scott & Nypl and now Vandevander & Nypl CPA's.
He was a member of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at Thomas, Board of Directors at Cortland Acres, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Miners and Merchants Bank until the time of his death. Consultant with the Canaan Valley PSD, Past President of the Rotary, and many other organizations.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially golf and was an exceptional cook. He loved animals and always had a dog, he was very musically inclined and played in several musical groups, and at sixteen years old he won first place in Czechoslovakia, playing the violin. Milan had a huge heart and spent a lot of his time volunteering and helping others.
Mr. Nypl's request for cremation was honored.
A Christian Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at Thomas, West Virginia, on July 13, 2024, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Father Martin Smay will be the Presider. Inurnment will follow at the Mount Calvary Cemetery at Thomas, West Virginia.
The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to, Canaan Valley Fire Dept., Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Tunnels to Towers, West Virginia Caring or an Animal Shelter of your choice.
