Mr. Roger Herman Clark 81, of Belington, departed this life Saturday evening in the Davis Medical Center at Elkins. Death was following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 14, 1942, at Buckhannon, West Virginia, a son of the late Steven Brady and Susan Jean Moss Osborn.
On July 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to the former Susan Jane Wright, who survives at their home in Belington.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Carmen Michele Higgins of Buckhannon, Tamela Jo Alt and husband, David, of Petersburg and Lisa Dawn Gibson and husband, Mike, of Belington; and one sister, Suetta Bon "Bonnie" Gooden and husband, Frank, of Buckhannon.
Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Megan Higgins, Eli Higgins, Caleb Alt, Russell Smith, Adrianna Fenstermacher and Anthony Gibson; and six great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Michael, Stevyn, Damian, Aubrey and Bryson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert "Bob" Osborn.
Roger attended the schools of Upshur County and obtained his high school diploma in the United States Army. Roger was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army, where he served in the 82nd Airbourne out of Fort Brag, North Carolina.
Roger was a retired truck driver from GNC and was then employed for G and H Trucking.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge and was a member of Nays Chapel United Methodist Church. He was currently attending the Westside United Methodist Church in Belington.
Roger was an avid antique car enthusiast and was a member of the WV Classic Wheels Car Club. In his earlier years, he drove dirt track stock cars and was an avid hunter, NASCAR fan, and deer hunter. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and his side-by-side, taking long trail rides in the woods.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home at 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Sam Felton officiating.
nterment will then follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery near Buckhannon, where full military rites will be conducted by the United States Army and the American Legion Post 96 of Belington.
