James Alfred Knotts

Mr. James Alfred Knotts, 60, a resident of Dailey, West Virginia, departed this life Wednesday afternoon July 3, 2024, in the Charleston Area Medical Center at Charleston West Virginia. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born July 9, 1963, at Kingwood, West Virginia, a son of the late William Harrison and Martha Marry (Wilson) Knotts.

On Sept. 12, 1981, he was united in marriage to the former Brenda Lea Watson, who survives at their home in Dailey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings and two children, William Lee Knotts and Crystal Dawn Knotts.

Left to cherish his memory are three children, James David Knotts of Nestorville, Donald Ray Watson of Virginia and Christopher Edward Knotts of Virginia; and three siblings, Sue England, Faye Grimm and Patricia Hanson.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends.

Mr. Knotts attended the Schools of Randolph County. He was a former employee of the Tyson Food Company, Abenaki Lumber and most recently he ran his own lawn care business. He loved to fish, hunt, work on automobiles, and he enjoyed watching wrestling on television. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Monday July 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Rev. A.H. Belt officiating.

Interment will then follow in the Trinity Cemetery near Belington.
