Marsha Lynn Raines Lipscomb

She was born Friday, Sept. 17, 1948, at Parsons, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Raines and Virginia Marguerite Bonner Raines Sheets.

On Nov. 10, 1967, at the EUB Church at Parsons, West Virginia, she was married to Richard Allen Lipscomb, who survives at Greensboro, North Carolina. They had celebrated56 years of marriage.

Also surviving are two sons, Richard Matthew “Matt” Lipscomb and Michael Lynn Lipscomb, both of Greensboro, North Carolina; one daughter, Melissa Renee Huffman and husband, Brian, of Liberty, North Carolina; one brother, Robert Keith Raines of California; four grandchildren, Charles Allen Jay Lipscomb, Madison Amberlynn Lipscomb Ashlee Nicole Huffines and Nyssa Beth Lipscomb; one step grandson, Kenneth Ray Moore; two great-great grandchildren, Amara and Vada Lipscomb; special niece, Dawn (Chuck) Taylor; and several other nieces and nephews; and her beloved “Buddy”.

Preceding her in death are two sisters, Sandra Jean Raines Barr and infant Carol Raines.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1966. She worked at the Department of Social Services until moving to North Carolina in 1969. Marsha was a member of the Christ Wesleyan Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was an avid bowler. She enjoyed traveling back home to West Virginia and she loved her family very much.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, West Virginia.
