Michael David ‘Mike’ Lamb

LAMB

Michael David “Mike” Lamb, 69, a resident of Parsons, West Virginia, departed this life Sunday, July 7, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, West Virginia.

He was born June 7, 1955, at Elkins, West Virginia, and raised by Jim Waybright and Philppine “Peanie” Humphry Waybright.

Surviving are one daughter, Skyler Maraea Lamb and companion, Shaun McGee, of Parsons; three brothers, Steve Lamb and wife, Brenda, of Jay, Oklahoma, Robert Lamb and Chet Lamb, both of Lancaster, Ohio; and one sister, Hope Shappell and husband, Robert, of Florida; one grandson, Anakin Skylynn McGee; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is one brother, Jimmy Waybright.

He attended the schools of Tucker County. He worked at the former Parsons Shoe Plant, the Tucker Board of Education at the Hamrick School as a janitor, he worked about 12 years for the Tucker County EMS, and for 40-plus years, he was an employee of Kingsford Charcoal Plant.

Mike enjoyed riding the mule up the government road, cooking, fishing and tying spinners, and shooting guns with his daughter, who he loved very much.

He enjoyed listening to music, mainly the oldies and watching movies and he loved playing with his dog, “Cleo.”

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11 a.m.

Rev. James Gilbert will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons Family Cemetery at Shavers Fork.
