Sondra Bee Cochran
Sondra Bee Cochran, 78, of Marlinton, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2024, while a resident at the Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.
She was born Sept. 26, 1945, at Elkins, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Jefferson William Nelson and Grace (Harper) Nelson.
She was a 1963 graduate of Marlinton High School and a graduate of Marshall University. She had worked in the Pocahontas County Assessor’s Office and was a member of the Marlinton United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, playing musical instruments and flowers.
On Jan. 22, 1966, she married Harold Lee Cochran Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2022.
Surviving are one daughter, Misty Lea Cochran of Marlinton; one sister, Barbara Jean Shaw (Norman) of Edray, West Virginia; one brother, Harper Nelson (friend, Nancy) of Marlinton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Nelson and Robert Nelson.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor Lee Bailey officiating.
