Virginia Ruth Robinson Bohon, 89, a resident of the Hannahsville Community, St. George, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas, passed from this life Monday, July 1, 2024, at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, Maryland. She had been in declining health however, death was unexpected.

Ruth was born Monday, April 8, 1935, a daughter of the late William “Bill” Ross Robinson Sr. and Tillie Ann Snider Robinson.

On Oct. 3, 1953, at St. George, she was married to the late Eugene Bohon, who preceded her in death on April 25, 2011. They had celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Left to cherish Ruth’s memory are three children, Randall Lee Bohon, Roxanna Virginia Akerley and Regina Lynn Falls and husband, Farren, all of Hannahsville; one sister, Patricia “Patty” J. Gower and husband, Donley, of Ohio; two brothers, William R. Robinson Jr. and wife, Cathy, of Hannahsville and James Robinson of Ohio; six granddaughters, Shylo, Rachael, Sheyenne, Rosanna, Tara and Angel; a grandson, Taylor; 14 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Kelvin, John, Lilly, Kenley, Cooper, Hannah, Eric, Piper, Mae, Trista, Jace, Hadley and Rowan; four step-grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Pat and Rick; eight step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ruth in death besides her parents and husband, was one son, Eugene “Rob” Bohon; one sister, Gladys J. Moore; a son-in-law, Richard Akerley; her father and mother-in-law, Claude and Mae Bohon; four brothers-in-law, Erwin, Lyle, Edward Bohon and Beck Moore; three sisters-in-law, Gladys and Ginny Bohon and Phyllis Robinson, and a step- grandson, Kenny Akerley.

Ruth was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1953. She attended the Macedonia Methodist Church at St. George. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, hunting, watching the Steelers, and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11 a.m.

Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate, and interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
