HAMNER
Vonda Lee Hamner, 90, of Clarksburg, died Saturday, July 6, 2024, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1933, in Pickens, a daughter of the late Clarence and Nina Eubank.
On Aug. 1, 1953, she was united in marriage to William Glenn “Fuzz” Hamner, who preceded her in death on May 20, 2010.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Jeremy Lynn Hamner and Jonathan Cason; five brothers, Jesse, Arnold, Danny, Sammy and Bob Eubank; and sister, Eunice Campbell.
Vonda is survived by four sons, William Lynn Hamner and fiancee, Crystal Brady, of Clarksburg, Roger Allen Hamner and wife, Debra, of North Pole, Alaska, Stephen Glenn Hamner and wife, Theresa, of Grottoes, Virginia, and Kevin Lee Hamner and wife, Kimberly, of McGaheysville, Virginia; two daughtersm Nancy Bowers and husband, Brad, of Sugar Grove, West Virginia, and Glenna Cason and husband, Alex, of Chesapeake, Virginia; former daughter-in-law, Tammy Hamner of Bridgeport; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Eubank, Bert Eubank and Mary Eubank; and special friends, Weese Day, Ann Cuppett, Matt Canter, Sally Anne Veith, Jan Glessner, Carol Cogar and Jeannie Wright.
Vonda and her husband owned Hamner’s Trading Post in French Creek and an auction business. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and sharing recipes with friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, from 1-6 p.m., the funeral hour, at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel, with Reverand Weese Day officiating. Following the service Vonda will be cremated. Private inurnment will follow at the Elbon Cemetery at a later date.
