Alan William Kerns

Kerns was born in Grafton on Nov. 17, 1950, the son of the late Fred G. Kerns and Thelma Glover Kerns.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Fred Michael Kerns and Stephen Craig Kerns.

He is survived by his brother, Terry Lee Kerns of Beverly; his nephews, Stephen Michael Kerns and Brandon Cody Kerns; his niece, Ila Marie Kerns; and his step-niece, Debbie Ware, all of Elkins.

Kerns graduated from Elkins High School and attended West Virginia University. He spent almost 50 years of his career in New York City in the interior design business before retiring to Elkins, West Virginia.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home in Elkins, followed by interment at the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, West Virginia.
