Kenneth Willard Hardy
								HARDY
Kenneth Willard Hardy, 85, a resident of the Bull Run Community, St. George, West Virginia, departed this life Friday morning, Aug. 16, 2024, at his home. He had been in declining health.
He was born Friday, Dec. 9, 1938, at Pheasant Run, Kerens, West Virginia, a son of the late George W. Hardy and Flora Mildred Nestor Hardy.
He was previously married to Kitty Vandevender.
Surviving are two daughters, Vickie Hamrick and companion, Kevin Daniels, of Elkins, West Virginia, and Tammy Jean LaFleur and husband, Kevin, of Georgia; one brother, Delmas W. Hardy of Parsons; one sister, Lorraine Shahan of Parsons; three grandchildren, James “Dink” Oldaker and companion, Kayla, of Audra, West Virginia, Christian Ramsey and companion, Felecia, of Georgia, and Ryan LaFleur and companion, Ashley, of Georgia; two great-grandchildren, EmmaLee and Mathew Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Ernest Dempsey Hardy and Alfred L. Hardy; and four sisters, Betty Bolinger, Lucille Hebb, Phyllis “Polly” Davis and Helen Weese.
He attended the one- room school at Pheasant Run and had worked for Pete Frazee and Bill Minear Sawmills. He was a former employee of the Kingsford Charcoal Company, the Parsons Shoe Factory, the Woolen Mill and retired from Hinchcliff Lumber Company.
He attended Sycamore Grove Church at Bull Run. He was very active and an avid outdoorsman, had a passion for coon hunting dogs, and loved hunting in general. He enjoyed farming, and raised cattle, hogs, goats and chickens and always raised a nice large garden. Kenny loved his family very much.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Final Rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Bill Hardy will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons Family Cemetery at Shavers Fork, West Virginia.
