Marie Elizabeth Teter, 93, a resident of Coalton, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, in Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center.
She was born May 6, 1931, at Coalton, a daughter of the late William Burton Jackson and the late Elvie Thomas Jackson.
On Aug. 31, 1947, at Oakland, Maryland, she was married to Cuyler M. Teter, who preceded her in death July 30, 2009.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Wood and John and Terry Broschart and Robert, all of Coalton, and Jody Kimble and Roger of Norton, West Virginia; and a special niece, Kathy Beahm of Elkins; six grandchildren, Mollie Wood and Grant Spencer, Charleston, West Virginia, Jake Rowan and Tammy, Mabie, Mindi Broschart of Coalton and Jordan Kimble and Katy, also of Coalton, Janson Rowan and Desiree of Canton, Ohio, and Ashley Kimble of Norton.
Nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, David Rowan of Coalton also survive.
Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Debra Rowan; two grandsons, Justin Kimble and J.C. Wood; two sisters, Virginia Haney and Georgia Pomp; and two brothers, Dewey Jackson and Victor Jackson.
Marie attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed for many years as a cook for the Randolph County Board of Education. Marie enjoyed her summer flower beds and was an avid fan of WVU Basketball and Nascar Racing.
Marie's request for cremation will be honored.
The family requests contributions be made to West Virginia Caring Hospice, PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520 in memory of Marie.
