Mark Allan Lewis

Mark was born Wednesday, May 6, 1964, in Elkins, a son of the late Jay Hugh Lewis and Ressie Darlene Kyle Lewis.

Left to cherish Mark’s memory are three children, Jayme Artrip and husband, Derek, of Morgantown, Dillon Lewis of Dailey and Brandon Lewis of Elkins; several grandchildren; eight siblings, Donald G. Lewis and wife, Rita, of White Mills, Kentucky, Mary L. Cook of Elkins, Robert J. Lewis and wife, Becky, of Beverly, Brenda L. Tackett and husband, Rick, of Mill Creek, Terry K. Lewis and wife, Debbie, of Arnold, Maryland, Jerry F. Lewis of Beverly, Patricia A. Loftin and husband, Jeff, of Belington, and Sarah N. Haden and husband, Greg, of Valley Head; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and Mark’s friend and companion, his black lab, Riley.

Preceding Mark in death besides his parents was his brother, Gregory H. Lewis; a nephew, Christopher Tackett; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Cook.

Mark attended the schools of Randolph County. He had worked as a logger and a sawyer with local sawmills and had worked construction, and until his health prevented him, Mark served with the Dailey Volunteer Fire Department. He loved being outdoors in peace and solitude.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and was quite the storyteller. He was a kind, giving soul with great loyalty to his family and friends. He was a Baptist by faith.

A visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., the funeral hour.

Mark’s request for cremation will then be honored.
