Michael ‘Doc’ Ralph Bennett

Michael “Doc” Ralph Bennett, 87, of Job, West Virginia, departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Jan. 3, 1937, in Job, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Thomas William and Olive Rebecca (Reed) Bennett.

Doc was a graduate of Harman High School with the class of 1955.

On Feb. 13, 1957, he married Evonne Olive Nelson in Maryland.

He was co-owner of the Bennett’s Texaco Service Station, a carpenter with MRB Builders, was a member of the Job Methodist Church, and a member of the Job Valley Boys Bluegrass Band. He was an avid bird watcher, farmer, outdoorsman, enjoyed playing mandolin, spending time with his family and telling stories.

He is survived by three children, Michael Bennett and companion, Melinda White, Karen Bennett Huffman and Jeffrey Bennett and wife, Rebecca, all of Job; sister, Bonnie Bennett Teter of Job; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Teter, Scott Huffman, Lisa Bennett, Brittany Bennett and fiance, Jordan Corbitt, Kermit Bennett and wife, Kerstin, Karla Huffman, Clinton Bennett and wife, Kara, Lindsay Clark and husband, Ryan, Luke Bennett and Pheobe Bennett; and 13 great-grandchildren, Chloe Sutherland, Alaca Rohrbaugh, Logan Rohrbaugh, Jeremiah Rohrbaugh, Chandlyr Milliron, Kaden Brown, Ava Ebaugh, Colton Ebaugh, Kinzy Corbitt, Audrey Clark, Elijah Bennett, Allison Clark and Jackson Bennett; one uncle, Robert Reed of Whitmer; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Tommy Bennett and David Bennett; and one great-grandson, Lanye Corbitt.

Friends will be received on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Job Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at 11 a.m., from the church, with Steve Wymer officiating.

The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Bennett family at this time.
