Olive May Bradshaw

Olive May Bradshaw, a resident of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2024, a few days shy of her 87th birthday.

She was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Adolph, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Harold Brown and Hallie (Fincham) Brown.

Olive grew up in Mill Creek, West Virginia, which remained a fond and special place to her. She was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School in Mill Creek.

She resided in Hampton, Virginia, for most of her adult life where she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

In recent years she had relocated to Commonwealth Memory Care in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Olive retired from Civil Service, working as a switchboard operator for Langley Air Force Base.

She is survived by two children, Alan Bradshaw of Williamsburg, Virginia, (wife, Lisa), and Debbie Puckett of Chesapeake, Virginia, (husband, Malcolm); two grandchildren, Taylor Bradshaw of Richmond, Virginia, and Tyler Puckett of Concord, New Hampshire; siblings, Douglas Brown of Monrovia, Maryland, (wife, Mary), Patricia Jenkins of Damascus, Maryland, Dennis Brown of Gwynn Oak, Maryland, and Jean Harris of Lebanon, Ohio (husband, Laurel).

She is predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Everett Brown and Ben Brown.

The family will gather for a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at Fincham Chapel Cemetery in Mill Creek, West Virginia, with Olive’s son-in-law, Malcolm Puckett, officiating.
