William ‘Bill’ James Cutlip Sr.

CUTLIP

William “Bill” James Cutlip Sr., 75, of Walhonding, Ohio, passed from this life on June 16, 2024. He had been in failing health for the past few years.

Bill was the son of the late James and Alice Cutlip.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, but grew up in Mill Creek. He graduated from Tygarts Valley High School.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Conard Cutlip. He is also survived by a son, William Cutlip, Jr.; six sisters and two brothers, Mary Alice Stewart (Jim), Frances Young (Jerry), Lois Vanscoy (Allen), Cecelia Simmons (Jerry), Terry Cutlip (Lori), Susan LaRosa (Jim), Renee Prozillo (Ray), and Ron Cutlip (Cynthia).

He is also survived by grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Adam and Ethel Cutlip; and his maternal grandparents, William and Catherine Jones; a niece, Jessica Simmons; and a nephew, William Golden Jr.

Bill retired from General Motors after 38 years of employment. He enjoyed coming to West Virginia during deer season to hunt with his nephew Eric, who he called “Weasel.” He was a true WVU Mountaineer fan and followed their games throughout his life. He was an avid gardener who raised a garden each summer and canned the results of it.

Bill’s request for cremation was honored.

A graveside service will be held on Aug. 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Mill Creek Cemetery in Mill Creek.

The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice for their care and understanding in taking care of Bill.
