Berkley Delano ‘Buck’ Jaggie Sr.

Buck was born Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1942, in Elkins, a son of the late Thomas B. Jaggie and Mary Ola Mace Jaggie.

Left to cherish his memory are three children, Leroy Jaggie and wife, Valerie, of Ohio, Mary Fortney and husband, Robert, of Elkins, and Carolyn Fortney and husband, James, of Beverly; seven grandchildren, BJ Jaggie and wife, Chelsey, Courtney Jaggie and boyfriend, Garrett, James Fortney Jr., Kristina Markley and husband, Joseph, Kiersten Jaggie and boyfriend, Andrew, Thomas Jaggie, and Ashley Fortney; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronnie Jaggie and wife, Valerie, of Pennsylvania, Betty Corica of Florida, Phyllis Oldaker of Maryland; and his companion of 30 years, Patty Kelley.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was one son, Berkley Delano “Buck” Jaggie Jr.;two siblings, Evelyn Ross, and Carolyn “Sis” Corica; nd one nephew, Franklin L. Mace.

Buck attended the schools of Randolph County. He worked for 20 years at the Randolph County Senior Center as a caregiver. He was an animal lover, enjoyed working on and collecting old cars, and had an amazing green thumb as a gardener. Buck never knew a stranger, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. Rev. Tristan Tenney will officiate and interment will follow in Scott Cemetery in Norton.
