Emaline Bragg Staples

Mary was born Saturday, Sept. 25, 1937, in Nimitz, a daughter of the late Creed Thomas Bragg and Martha Ann Bragg.

She was married to Thomas Douglas Staples, who preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, William Staples and wife, Bonni, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Julia Staples, both of North Carolina.

Mary worked as the office manager at the Sangamore Coal Company that she and Thomas started during the 1970s. Mary enjoyed giving back to her community. She was a member of the International Order of the Odd Fellows and a committee member at Tyrand Parish. Mary was an active member of the Arbor Church.

Mary’s request for cremation was honored.

A memorial service will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at 1 p.m.

Rev. Tristan Tenney will officiate.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Mary’s name to the Arbor Church, Arborchurch.net or to West Virginia Caring Inc. 169 Diamond Street Elkins WV 26241.
