Evelyn Grace Tenney Thorn

She was born Dec. 1, 1957, at Belington, West Virginia, a daughter of the late William L. and Dorothy L. Cross Tenney.

On Feb. 27, 1995 she was united in marriage to David Joseph Thorn, who survives at their home in Elkins.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, Nicholas Wagner of Elkins, Brandi Hathaway and husband, Brent, of Philippi, and Joseph Thorn and wife, Morgan, of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Allison Hathaway, Abigail Hathaway and Nathaniel Thorn.

Additional survivors include seven brothers, Stan Tenney and wife, Che Che, of Fairmont, Marvin Tenney and wife, Lenora, of Belington, Martin “Rusty” Tenney of Texas, David Tenney of Pennsylvania, Mark Tenney and wife, Vickie, of Pennsylvania, Matthew Tenney of Belington and Michael Tenney of Belington; three sisters, Louise Edmond of Belington, Anna Moore of Belington and Rose Cathell of Philippi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and Alvin Tenney; and a sister, Florence Ellen Tenney Cooper.

Evelyn was a graduate from the Philip Barbour High School and was formerly employed from Riedboard Brothers Manufacturing. She loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Per Evelyn’s request, cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
