Gary Michael (Mike) Busdeker

BUSDEKER

Gary Michael (Mike) Busdeker, a resident of Elkins, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at the age of 52 at Mon General Hospital with his family by his side. His cause of death was attributed to cardiac arrest.

Michael was born on March 10, 1972, in Bowling Green, Ohio.

He was the son of the late Gary Busdeker, and survivors Jeanette and Sam Legg of Columbus, Ohio, and Deb Busdeker of Bowling Green, Ohio.

He is also survived by his wife, Melissa Busdeker, and daughter, Gretchen Michael Busdeker of Elkins.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters including a twin brother, Brant Busdeker (wife Cassie, daughters Tory and Alex and companion of Alex, Chris) of Bridgeport, Chad Busdeker (wife Valerie, sons Caleb and Connor) of Wilmington, North Carolina, Tim Legg (Vicki) of Buffalo, Oklahoma, Melissa Chenos (husband Mike of Wilmington, North Carolina, son Christopher and Kary and their son Landon of Sacramento, California), Clarissa Georges (husband Ted and daughter Delaney) of Westerville, Ohio, Bailey Brimus (companion Griff and son Charlie) of Cleveland, Ohio, Samantha Tostenson (husband John and children William and Taylor) of Middletown, Maryland, and Kristen McConnell (husband Cory and daughter Drew) of Delaware, Ohio.

Michael is also survived by two additional children, Lilly and Cole; and granddaughter, Nova; a stepson, Alexander Wamsley of Mabie; in-laws, Marsha and Kelmar Lanham and Thomas Wamsley; two nieces, Nola and Paedyn Sellars; and a nephew, Gabe Sellars, all of Utah; cousins, Tommy Worthington (Lauren, Taylor and Tyler) of Bowling Green, Ohio, Todd Busdeker of Heath, Ohio, John Durliet of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Matt Warren of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Michael was a graduate of Elkins High School class of 1990.

He is proceeded in death by grandparents, Robert and Nell Crickard; uncle Harald Crickard; and great-grandmother, Dessie Crickard; grandparents, Rich and Shirley Busdeker; and uncle Rick and Terry Busdeker; aunt Jane Anne Louk and aunt Kathleen Worthington; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wamsley Sellars; and a cousin, Roberta (John) Warren.

Michael was an accomplished artist and loved golf and music.

Michael’s request for cremation was honored.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 218 Buffalo Street in Elkins from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., all are welcome.

Please wear casual attire with tie dye or your favorite rock band T-shirts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of love be in the form of contributions to his family to help with medical expenses be sent to Melissa Busdeker, 806 W. Central Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241.
