Grace Teter Britt, 78, a resident of the Tygart Valley Health & Rehabilitation in Belington, WV (formerly Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County), passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, in the Davis Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born July 19, 1946, at Dailey, a daughter of the late Blair and Lela Evans Hart.
She was thrice married, formerly to William Robert “Bill” Teter and formerly to Willard “Will” Streets, both of whom preceded her in death. Lastly, she was married to Randy Britt. who preceded her in death March 24, 2009.
Grace is survived by three children, William Robert “Roby” Teter Jr. (Tera) of Montrose, Norman “Allan” Teter (Tonya) of Beverly and Juanita “Renee” Teter-Heckel and (J) of Elkins.
One brother, George M. Hart (Pat) of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Martha “Jean” Hart Varner of Beverly; one sister-in-law, Martha Hart of Beverly; six grandchildren, Ryan, Linlee, Haley, Mason, Kyle and Johnny; seven great-grandchildren, Cayson, Asher, Cambrie, Shia Zane, Ella, Max and Roman; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Also preceding her in death was one brother, Robert L. “Bob” Hart; one sister, Betty Jo Hart Skidmore; and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth “Kenny” Skidmore and Bill D. Varner.
Grace had worked as a machine operator at Danaher Electronics and Controls, Inc. and Cape Craftsman Picture Framing while a resident of North Carolina. She had worked at the Elkins Fashion Bug as a Sales Associate in Elkins and was a Foster Grandparent with the Homestead Foster Grandparent Program. Grace had been a member of the Classic Cruiser Car Club in Bladen County, North Carolina, and Relay for Life for the North Carolina Cancer Foundation. She was a former member of the Creative Homemakers Club of Elkins and was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church, the Ladies Missionary Society and the church choir. Grace loved animals and her pets, especially her dog, Dusty, and her cat, Tigger. She had a green thumb when it came to her flowers and gardening. She loved to laugh, having a smile that would light up a room, and everything she did, she did it with joy and enthusiasm.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon, Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, from the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Leon Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Beverly Cemetery.
