Herby Hugh "Bruz" Casto, Jr., 79 years, a resident of Elkins and the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 in the Davis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1945 at Elkins, a son of the late Herby Hugh Casto, Sr., and Anna Belle Morgart Casto. He had never married.
He is survived by one sister, whom he made his home with, Mary Ann Casto Flynn of Elkins, and a cousin, Wanda Blackwood of Ohio.
Herby enjoyed Elkins High School and West Virginia University football and basketball. He raised tomato plants and beautiful flowers, loved playing bingo and his four cats, Jelly Bean, Big Boy, Ming and Bessy.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2024 at the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins. Pastor Bob Yothers will officiate and interment will follow. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Herby Hugh "Bruz" Casto, Jr.
