Jerry Glen Vanscoy, 79, a resident of Elkins, and for the past year a resident of Tygart Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Belington, passed from this life Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins. He had been in declining health.
Jerry was born Friday, May 4, 1945, in Elkins, a son of the late Delbert Glen Vanscoy and Wilda Jean Isner Vanscoy.
Left to cherish Jerry's' memory are two siblings, Sandra Teter and Walter Vanscoy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Jerry in death besides his parents were two sisters, Mary Waybright and Thelma Jean Wamsley; a brother, James Allen Vanscoy; and a special companion, Betty Elizabeth Catherine Watring Miller.
Jerry attended the schools of Randolph County. He worked several odd jobs, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 3 p.m., at Mouse Cemetery in Cravensdale.
The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Jerry Glen Vanscoy.
