Robert Gale Pritt

Robert Gale Pritt, 83, a resident of the Files Creek Community in Beverly, passed from this life Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at the Pierpont Center in Fairmont, West Virginia.

Robert was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Beverly, the son of the late Bernard L. Pritt and Mary Helen Collett Pritt.

On June 18, 1971, he married the former Carolene Howell Zirkle, who passed away Sept. 23, 2003.

Left to cherish his memory is one daughter, Angela Dawn Ward and husband, Brad, of Palmetto, Florida; and two granddaughters, Dallas Haley Ward and fiance, Josh Heldwein, of Bradenton, Florida, and Morgan Taylor Ward of Palmetto, Florida; one brother, H. Kenneth Pritt and wife, Brenda, of Beverly; nephews, Donnie Pritt and wife, Elizabeth, of Beverly, Derrick Pritt and wife, Hollie, of Montrose and Jeff Pritt of Beverly; great-nephews, Dakota Pritt of Beverly and Jacob Pritt of Montrose; and great niece, Brooke Pritt of Montrose.

Also preceding him in death besides his wife and parents were two sisters, Wanda Louise Pritt and infant Helen Marie Pritt.

Robert was a graduate of Beverly High School with the Class of 1960. He served in the United Sates. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a self-employed carpenter, working along-side his father for many years, until his retirement. Robert was a Baptist by faith and a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Beverly.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Leon Brown officiating.

Interment will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Beverly.

Full military rites will be accorded at the grave site by members of the West Virginia National Guard Honor Program, HW Daniels Post 29 American Legion of Elkins and Tygart Vally Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Elkins.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1002 South Crim Ave., Belington, WV 26250 in memory of Robert.
