The Rev. Keith Wayne Carr, 81, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Thursday morning, Oct. 17, 2024, at the WV Caring Hospice Center at Elkins, West Virginia, with his loving family at his side.
He was born Thursday, July 15, 1943, at Parsons, West Virginia, a son of the late Vincent A. Carr and Ethel Waybright Carr.
He was married to the former Janet Elaine Woods, who survives in Elkins, West Virginia.
Surviving are one son, Roy Wayne Carr of Morgantown; and one sister, Carol Sherman and Carl of Tennessee.
Preceding him in death is one daughter, Kathie Elaine Carr; and one brother, Jerry K. Carr.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a heavy equipment operator. Keith hobbies included hunting and fishing, and during his younger years he enjoyed playing the guitar. Keith and his wife loved the missionary work they did in Uganda and Bosnia. He was a Christian by faith, and he was a minister at several area churches.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Kevin Gainer will officiate and internment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, West Virginia, where full military honors will be accorded by members of the WV Army National Guard Honor Guard Program, the H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion and the Tygarts Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
