Eula Jean Hevener Gibson, 79, a resident of Jerusalem Road, Mill Creek, passed from this life, Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at her home and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
Eula was born Tuesday, June 12, 1945, in Blue Springs, a daughter of the late Talbert Hevener and Sarah Ada Folks Hevener.
On July 2, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, she married Don David Gibson who preceded her in death on June 17, 2019.
Left to cherish Eula's memory is one daughter, Norma Jean Mathes and husband, Danny, of New Market, Virginia; three grandchildren, Missy Mathes Crist of Timberville, Virginia, Heather Doolan and Daniel Mathes of New Market, Virginia; and two great-grandchildren, Michaela and Abigail Crist of Timberville, Virginia; sister, Shirley Hite of Elyria, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Arnold "Hoot" Gibson and Earl Gibson, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her loyal pet, Henry.
Preceding Eula in death besides her husband and parents were three sons, David Hevener, Eugene Hevener and Henry Gibson; siblings, Frankie, Howard and Jerl Hevener, Verlie Conrad, Mae Lindsay, Lou Sage, Pearl "Haze" Hevener, and Mary Swecker.
Eula attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed as a sawyer at Tygart Moulding and Colonial Millworks. She enjoyed spending time on the family farm, digging ramps, baking and playing cards. Above all, Eula loved spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at 11 a.m.
Rev. Randy Long will officiate, and interment will follow in the Folks/Hevener Cemetery in Monterville.
