Evelyn Irene Arbogast, 85, of Parkersburg passed away Nov. 10, 2024, the Parkersburg Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1938, in Valley Head, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Raymond Wesley and Daisy Rosella Ware Arbogast.
Irene retired from the IRS as a special agent after 38 1/2 years of services. She attended New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the Gospel Music Reunion Choir, reading and quilting.
She is survived by two sisters, Linda Carolyne (Verl) Simmons and Cindy Long; four brothers, William Arbogast, David (Sonia) Arbogast, Richard (Pamela) Arbogast and Jeff (Susan) Arbogast; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Freda Lowther, Wanda Ware and Lucy Shannon.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Tomblyn Funeral Home, in Elkins, West Virginia with a graveside service to follow at Valley Head Cemetery in Valley Head, West Virginia.
Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg have been entrusted with the arrangements.
