James DeWain ‘Jim’ Gordon

James DeWain "Jim" Gordon of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, passed away on Oct. 13, 2024, at the age of 63.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1960, in Elkins, West Virginia, to James and Carol Rosier. In 1964 he was formally adopted by Herbert Gordon.

Partners in life for 41 years and legally married on April 19, 2014, in Tahoe City, California, Jim was preceded in death by his husband, Kenneth Lambert, on Nov. 5, 2023.

Also preceding him in death was his mother, Carol Gordon (Young); father, Herbert Gordon; and step-brother, Herbert R Gordon II of Dayton, Ohio.

Jim is survived by his cats, Patrick and Lukas; his brothers, Robert "Bob" Gordon (Tonya) of Beverly, West Virginia, and Herbert M "Herb" Gordon of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; nephews, Michael Gordon of Charleston, West Virginia, and J.B. Stalnaker of Beverly, West Virginia; his biological father, James "Jim" Rosier of Newton Falls, Ohio; half-sister, Donna Bell (Rosier) of Caledonia, Ohio; half-brothers, Russell Rosier (Jackie) and Harold Rosier, both of Newton Falls, Ohio; and one step-sister, Cynthia Sharrer of Zanesville, Ohio.

Jim graduated from Elkins High School in 1979 and moved to Ft Lauderdale after the closing of Memorial General Hospital in Elkins. Between 1985 and his death, Jim lived in the Nashville, Tennessee, area as well as many parts of central and south Florida. He and Ken traveled extensively and took every opportunity to cruise the oceans.

The majority of his working life was in one aspect of healthcare or another from Coordinator with Vanderbilt Children's Medical center in the Pediatric Medical Genetics Division to his most recent role as an analyst with Humana in the Medicare/Medicaid division.

In accordance with Jim's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no services held. Jim's memory will live on through the lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. He goes on to join Ken on their next adventure.
