Mr. Ralph Waldo Durrett, 82, a resident of Belington, departed this life Sunday morning, Nov. 17, 2024, at his home, following a battle with cancer.
He was born June 22, 1942, at Belington, a son of the late Ralph and Celia Phares Durrett.
Left to cherish his memory are two children, Timothy L. Durrett of Staton, Virginia and Donna M. Durrett of Wilmington, North Carolina; three sisters, Janet Stonebrook of Belington, Eleanor Leary and husband, Ed, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Eileen Martin of Ohio; and special friend and caregiver, Suzie Mullenax. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Durrett; and a sister, Irene McKinney.
Ralph was a graduate from the Belington High School with the class of 1960 and was previously employed for Ethan Allen Furniture where he was a truck driver for 32 years. After leaving Ethan Allen he was employed by Randolph County Schools as a bus driver, from which he retired.
Ralph was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Per Ralph's request cremation will be honored. There are no services scheduled at this time.
