Gary William McGee

Gary William McGee, 78, a resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born July 26, 1946, at Huttonsville, West Virginia, a son of the late Guss William McGee and the late Gladys Alice Simmons McGee.

He was formerly married to Shirley George, who survives in Warren, Ohio.

Also surviving is one son, Brian Waugh, Dailey, West Virginia; two daughters, Sharon Schoonover and Beth Wallace, both of Elkins; three sisters, Nellie Virginia Spicer, Louisville, Kentucky, Ada Jean Simmons of Mason, Michigan, and M. Ann Lester of Fairmont, West Virginia; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death was one sister, Eva Brenwalt; and two brothers, Paul and Charles McGee.

Gary attended the schools of Randolph County and was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He was employed as a Foreman for Elkins Industries prior to his retirement.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Boggs officiating.

Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville.
