Marilyn Crites Thompson

Marilyn Crites Thompson, 71, a resident of Parsons, West Virginia, departed this life early Sunday morning, Dec. 29, 2024, at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1953, at Elkins, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James Crites and Velma Weeks Brown, and step-father, Jack Brown.

On Feb. 22, 1982, at Parsons, West Virginia, she was married to Charles Daniel “Joe” Thompson, who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Michael Ends, Angie and Stephanie; two sisters, Joyce Davey and husband, John, of Maryland, and Linda Danner and husband, Ron, of Florida; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She graduated from high school in Maryland. She was a nurse assistant and caregiver and was a former employee of Cortland Acres.

She enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee, Uno and poker. She was a very loving wife and friend who will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cremation will follow.
