Roger Joe Everson

Mr. Roger Joe Everson, 78, a resident of Belington and more recently of the Mansfield Place in Philippi, departed this life Saturday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2024, in the care facility. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born Jan. 20, 1946, at Belington, West Virginia, a son of the late Harry A. and Jessie L. Booth Everson.

On July 31, 1966, he was united in marriage to the former Linda Victoria Cross, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2017.

He is survived by one daughter, Amanda Everson of Belington; and three sons, Ronnie Everson and wife, Angie, of Moatsville, West Virginia, Ricky Everson of Mill Creek, West Virginia, and Mark Everson of Belington.

Additional survivors include three brothers, Paul Everson and wife, Diane, of Belington, Ralph Everson and wife, Linda, of Ohio and Robert Everson of South Carolina; three sisters, Mary Ketchum of the Union Community near Philippi, Carol Ann Davis and husband, Howard, of Nutter Fort, West Virginia, and Nancy Bennett of Hurricane, West Virginia.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Derek Everson, Dillion Everson, Brandon Everson, Sean Everson, Ricky Joe Everson and Caitlyn Everson.

Great-grandchildren surviving are Jayden Everson, Blay Everson and Taylor Everson.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Gale Everson, Richard Everson and Gene Everson.

Roger was a 1964 graduate of the Philip Barbour High School and was Protestant by faith. He was a self-employed Auto body worker, in which he took great pride in his work. He was an avid hunter, loved Nascar and was an antique car enthusiast. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family, that he loved very much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Tuesday Dec. 3, 2024, from 5 – 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, from 8 – 11 a.m., the funeral hour, at which time a funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Evangelist Michael Phillips officiating.

Interment will then follow in Barbour Memorial Cemetery near Belington.
