Betty Louise Robey, 92, a resident of the Highland Park Community, Elkins, departed this life Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Virginia Hospice.
She was born April 30, 1933, in Elkins, a daughter of the late James Williams and the late Mary Elizabeth Cochran.
On Dec. 31, 1953, in Elkins, she married Darnell Wilson Robey, who preceded her in death June 16, 2000.
Left to cherish her memory are a son, Wilson Robey and wife, Debbie, Barboursville, Virginia; two daughters, Barbara Shoulders, Elkins, and Elizabeth Lambert and husband, David, of Elkins.
Twenty-six grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Paula Ferguson, also survive.
Also preceding her in death were four daughters, Mary Brown, Rebecca Armstrong, Jean Williams and Patricia Vance; a son, Albert Robey; and three great-grandchildren.
Betty attended the schools of Randolph County, was a homemaker and a member of the Ambassador Baptist Church in Elkins, where she played the piano and operated the Thrift Store for many years. Betty never met a stranger and loved everyone she met and talked to about her Lord and Savior. She was a great prayer warrior with her prayers going out with great power. She will be greatly missed by all her family and her many friends. She was Grandma to everyone that knew her.
Friends may come from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike House officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins.
