Madeliene Faye (Herron) Miller

MILLER

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Madeliene Faye (Herron) Miller, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at the age of 77, in CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a cherished friend to many.

Faye was born in Belington, West Virginia, on Jan. 24, 1947, to the late Forest (Sparky) Benjamin and Gatha Madeliene (Coontz) Herron.

She graduated with the class of 1964 from Philip Barbour High School.

On Jan. 23, 1966, she married Gareth (Gary) Neale Miller and raised two kids to be strong and independent.

She was the former owner and operator of Shawnee Mountaineer Restaurant.

In 1991, they moved to Sterling, Virginia, where she worked for the Fairfax County Public Schools and retired after 21 years of service.

In 2013, they moved back to West Virginia to enjoy their retirement with family and friends.

Faye was a faithful member of the Calvary Mission Church where she served as the secretary and trustee. She was a member of the Laurel Mountain Post 410 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of Tygart Valley Rebekah Lodge 181.

Her love knew no bounds as she always put the needs of others before herself. She had the most generous, loving heart and has touched many lives with her presence. She was a fighter, she beat breast cancer, thyroid cancer and she never let it get her down.

Faye enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, word search with friends and rarely missed a day of watching Gunsmoke and her favorite soap operas.

Left to cherish her memory are husband of 58 years, Gary Miller; son, Jeffrey Neale Miller and wife, Sally, of Charleston, South Carolina; daughter, Kelli Faye Lowery and husband, Britt, of Chesapeake, Virginia; grandchildren, Gunnar Dale Miller of Elizabeth, West Virginia, Hannah Faye Lowery, Hayden Britt Lowery, Heidi Ann Lowery and Harmon Neale Lowery of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Colton Patrick Miller of Charleston, South Carolina; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Judy Lynn Freeman and Wayne of Leo, Indiana, and Dianne Shahan and Alfred of Belington.

Her impact on our lives and those around her will never be forgotten.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, from 5 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral chapel with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating.
