Edna Virginia Griffith Ricottilli

Mrs. Edna Virginia Griffith Ricottilli, 88, a former resident of Belington and more recently a resident of the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center, departed this life Thursday afternoon Jan. 30, 2025, in the care facility. Death was following a period of declining health.

She was born Aug. 31, 1936, at Barbour County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Alfred John Griffith Sr. and Julia Virginia Perchan Griffith. On Sept. 6, 1958, at St. Patrick’s Church in Coalton, West Virginia, she was united in marriage to Dominick Vincent Ricottilli, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2019.

She is survived by two sons, David Ricottilli and wife, Connie, of Mill Creek, and Stanley Ricottilli and wife, Mary Alice, also of Mill Creek; four grandchildren, Michael Ricottilli, Sondra Tenney, Shane White and Julie White; great-grandchildren; Dominick and Makayla Ricottilli, Gates Tenney, Charles and Thomas White and Makenzie White. Additional survivors include three sisters, Jo Ann Toohey and husband Joseph of Leominster, Massachusetts, Sarah Catherine Hanelt and husband, Stanley, of Bristol, Massachusetts, and Linda Knight of Beverly, West Virginia; and a brother, Larry Dewayne Griffith and wife, Wilma, of Belington.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Alfred Griffith Jr., James Griffith, Jerry Griffith, Billy Grifith and Ronald Griffith; and a sister, Julia Marie Snider.

Edna was a graduate of the Belington High School with the class of 1955 and was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Coalton, where she also belonged the St. Patrick’s Women’s Guild.

Following high school, she was a waitress in a local restaurant in Belington and was CEO of three Rail Mills, lastly being Ricottilli Rustic Fencing in Mill Creek. She was also a homemaker and a farmer. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Monday Feb. 3, 2025, from 6-9 p.m. with a Catholic Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Father Jim O’Conner. On Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, she will be moved to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Coalton where the Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Presider Father Jim O’Conner officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Vincent Cemetery in Kingsville, West Virginia.
