Richard Todd Deffet

Todd was born April 21, 1973, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a son of Richard Lynn and Phyllis (Bennett) Deffet.

Todd was united in marriage to Sara B. Green.

Todd served in the U.S. Navy. Todd was a lieutenant for the Barbour County Sheriffs Department. He is a member of the FOP, Deputy Sheriff Association, Vice President of Barbour County Deputy Sheriff Association, Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, and the Crossroads United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Todd is survived by his mother Phyllis Deffet; wife, Sara Deffet; sons, Samuel Todd Deffet, Brady and Chase Richardson; as well as several extended family members.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lynn Deffet.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi, on Sunday, Feb. 16, from 5-8 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, with Pastor Sam Haught and Pastor Johnny Williams.

Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy, with military honors being accorded by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post 96.
