Sara F. Hinkle

HINKLE

Sara F. Hinkle, 91, a resident of Crystal Springs Community, passed away Friday evening, Feb. 21, 2025, at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Center in Elkins, with her daughter JoEllen by her side.

She was born Aug. 7, 1933, on the King Farm near Norton, a daughter of the late Ray Paul Loudin and Mary Marie Sturm Loudin.

She was thrice married, first to Kyle Miller, who preceded her in death; later to Pat Dolan, who also preceded her in death, and on Dec. 14, 2002, she was married to Robert "Bob" Hinkle, who preceded her in death May 19, 2024.

She is survived by one daughter, JoEllen Howell of Elkins; one brother, Danny Loudin and wife, Nancy, of Norton, one sister, Judy Hedrick and husband, Terry of Salem, Ohio; and a special nephew and niece who were like her grandchildren, Jeffrey Loudin of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jennifer Ware of Norton, West Virginia. Two step-daughters, Connie J. Kemrite and husband, Ronald, of Elkins and Lynn A. Ritter and husband, Jim, of Elkins; one step-son, John R. Hinkle of Honolulu, Hawaii; and two step-grandsons, Corey J. Ritter and girlfriend, Jazmin Gillum, of Elkins and Alex R. Ritter and fiancee, Anju Nair of Morgantown, West Virginia.

Also preceding her in death were five brothers, John Loudin, James Loudin, William Loudin, Bob Loudin and Jerry Loudin; and four sisters, Betty Kirkpatrick, Margaret Ann Miller, Mary Lou Daniels and Nancy Loudin, who passed away at a young age.

Sara worked for Dr. J. . Rhee as office manager prior to her retirement. She was Past Worthy Matron of Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of Delphia Rebekah Lodge No. 62 of Elkins and an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Elkins.

Sara's request for cremation will be honored. Inurnment will take place at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman at a later date.
