Twila B. Matlick
MATLICK
Twila B. Matlick, 75, a resident of Moatsville, was called home on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Twila was born Dec. 26, 1949, in Philippi, a daughter of Burton O’Dell and Erna Jean (Pedder) Moore.
Twila was united in marriage on Jan. 8, 1994, to Doward Lester Matlick.
Twila served as a treasurer for Sunrise Construction and was a beautician for over 15 years. Prior to this, she worked at Broaddus Hospital as a nurse’s aide. Twila had many hobbies such as gardening, farming with her husband, and reading. She was an active member of New Beginnings church and loved to sing alongside her two daughters and good friend, Karen Delauder. She loved to take shopping trips with her close friends and granddaughters whom she adored.
Twila is survived by her loving husband, Doward Matlick; children, Trina Alt and husband, Shawn, Stephanie Reed and husband, Anthony, Quentin Marsh and wife, Tammy, and Gregory S. Matlick and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Carli Reed, Sarah Price and husband, Noah, Cara Kirk, Alexis Marsh, Mattilea Marsh, Devon Matlick, Elijah Matlick and wife, Taylor, Hannah Howdershelt and husband, Zach, Noah Matlick and Jesiah Matlick; additional grandchildren she considered her own, Tyler and Jaelynn Hollen; great-grandchildren, Ayla Price, Jackson Matlick, Dawson Matlick, Lowen Matlick, Sutton Howdershelt, and Gentry Howdershelt; siblings, Janice Morgan, Donna Staggs and husband, Terry, Rhonda Dumire, Roger Moore and wife, Teresa and Mary Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
Twila is preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Erna Moore; son, Gene Matlick; and siblings, Ronald Moore, Leona Marsh and Catherine Lewis.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Friday, Feb. 21, from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Ken Lee Stewart and Rev. Jimmy Johnson.
Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy.
