Charles Edward ‘Birdie’ Levier

LEVIER

Charles Edward ‘Birdie’ Levier, 72, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, at Tygart Valley Health and Rehabilitation, surrounded by the compassionate caretakers he considered family.

Born on Jan. 3, 1953, Birdie was preceded in death by his loving parents, Clyde and Virginia Levier; his brother, Ross; and his sister, Rebecca Buschman.

Birdie spent much of his life working as a skilled vending machine repairman with J Rods Vending. In his free time, he found joy in the simple pleasures — playing the spoons, cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers football and basketball teams and spending time with friends at Elkins Raceway.

During his time at Tygart Valley Health and Rehabilitation, Birdie found happiness in cooking for the residents, especially serving up his famous chili. He also enjoyed working on puzzles in the activity room and took great pride in planting and tending to the vegetable garden. Above all, those who knew Birdie will remember him as a kindhearted and caring soul who always brought warmth and laughter to those around him

He is survived by his nephew, Brian Buschman of Pasadena, Maryland; and his niece, Aimee Orbin of Lutherville, Maryland.

In keeping with his wishes, Birdie will be cremated, and his remains will be laid to rest in the family plot at Maplewood Cemetery.

His kindness and friendship will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The Randolph Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Charles Edward “Birdie” Levier.
