Christiane Kennedy

She was born Jan. 18, 1936, at Paris, Ile de France, a daughter of the late Auguste Carmene and the late Leontine Mary Carmene.

On June 29, 1963, in Boulogne, France, she married David J. Kennedy, who preceded her in death Nov. 28, 2016.

Surviving is one son, Frank Kennedy of Purcellville, Virginia; and two daughters, Lylian Shiflet of Elkins, West Virginia, and Sandra Humphries of Norton, West Virginia.

Thirteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Also preceding her in death were a sister, Eliane Carmene; grandson, David Humphries; and great-grandson, David Alexander.

Mrs. Kennedy was employed by the French Embassy prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Elkins.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 29, from the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Ken Shiflet officiating.

Interment will follow in the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery near Cravensdale.
