In addition to her parents, left to cherish her memory are two children, Matthew Thompson and wife, Gina Suhon, of Washington, Pennsylvania, and Sara Thompson and companion, Andrew Ash, of Enterprise, West Virginia; and a grandson, who she was lovingly looking forward to meeting in June.

Additional survivors include one brother, Greg Kittle and wife, Terri, of Belington; and one nephew, Zach Kittle of Morgantown; and her pets, Charlie and Cleo.

Several aunts, uncles and cousins and the extended members of the Murphy family also survive.

She was preceded in death by her biological father, Orlan Ray Murphy.

Lori was a graduate from the Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1990. She attended Fairmont State College and received her Bachelors in Psychology and also attended Marshall University and received her Master’s in counseling. Mostly working in counseling her adult life, she previously worked at West Virginia Wesleyan College as Director of Counseling, she also worked in Youth Health Services in Randolph County, the Barbour County Health Department and lastly employed by Community Care in Randolph County as a Clinical Therapist, LPC. She loved family genealogy and tracing her family history and she loved music. She most definitely loved to help others and never had a judgmental bone in her body.

The world lost an amazing woman, mother and friend. Life will never be the same; for all of us who knew and had our hearts touched by her, we will never be the same. It’s okay to mourn, to be sad, to be angry, to be numb, and to miss her. It’s okay to cherish time spent, to reminisce, to cry and to move forward. We are so proud of who she was and how she chose to live her life. Always aiming to help as many people as she could, no matter the cost to her or her situation. She was the most honorable, kind, caring and wise person. The world is a better place because of her and she will live on in the memories and hearts of all the people who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., when a time of sharing and reflection will be conducted from the funeral home chapel.
