Marshall Terrance ‘Terry’ Gainer

Terry was born Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1949, in Elkins, a son of the late Edgar Gainer and Mildred Maxson Gainer.

He married the former Judith “Judy” Christie Hoover, who survives at home.

Also left to cherish his memory are three children, Aaron Gainer and wife, Alyssa, of Tennessee, Christie Alfred and husband, Nick, of Montrose, and Courtney Guido and husband, Mark, of North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Carter and Kennedy Alfred and Lily and Lucas Guido.

Terry was a 1967 graduate of Elkins High School. He then obtained his bachelor’s degree from Alderson Broaddus College and then his master’s degree from West Virginia University. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing were his life. People will remember Terry always for the many roles he could have had in their lives; teacher, principal, or coach of basketball and baseball.

Terry’s request for cremation was honored with no further services.

The Randolph Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Marshall Terrance Gainer.
