Anita Sue Wilmoth

Ms. Anita Sue Wilmoth, 53, a resident of Buckhannon, West Virginia, departed this life Friday afternoon, April 25, 2025, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, West Virginia. Death was following a short illness.

She was born Jan. 21, 1972, in Buckhannon, West Virginia. A daughter of Clifford Leo Wilmoth and the late Dixie Lee Booth Wilmoth.

In addition to her father, she is survived by one daughter, Cameo Jade Metheny of Buckhannon; and her “Grand Cats.” Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins and her extended family.

Anita was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in human relations from Fairmont State University. She also worked toward her Masters degree in later years. She formerly worked in youth corrections and loved hearing success stories of young men and women whom she helped set on a better path in life. She was considered everyone’s mother. She lastly worked at TLF Sharps Hospital in Weston, West Virginia, as a rehabilitation counselor.

She had a great love for animals and worked tirelessly to give hope to strays and unwanted animals. She was a very loving lady and will be greatly missed by all.

Cremation will be honored, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. It will be held on the Wilmoth Farm, near Belington.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Claws and Whiskers, 318 Mud Lick Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
