Charles Benie Arbogast

Charles was born Friday, Aug. 15, 1947, at home in Valley Head, West Virginia.

Charles resided in Valley Head most of his life, a period of time in Mingo and even a brief time in Ohio.

Charles was the son of the late Burton Charles & Sena Belle Vandevender Arbogast and was married to Ellen L Arbogast.

He has one son, Jamie, and companion, Sandra; and two stepchildren, Teresa and Lance.

Charles had one granddaughter, Olivia, and one great-granddaughter Aloia. He also had five step-grandchildren, Matthew, Chad, Aaliyah, Gavin and Brooklyn. A future step-grandson, Ryan, and companion, Shelby. Seven step-great -grandchildren Izeal, Arabella, Judah, Daxton, Brynlee, Braedon, Sarah and one on the way. Two future great-grandchildren, Gracelynn and Ryder. A former daughter-in-law that was special to the family, Kelly. Charles had one special sister, Phyllis, and three brothers James (Mitch), Ronald (Chuck) and wife, Wanda, and Michael and wife, Rose.

He is preceded in death by six brothers, William (Bill), Walter (Ashley), Charles (Wayne), Gene, Fred and Donald (Pete); and one stepson- in-law, David.

Charles worked as a mechanic for Phoenix resources in his early years. Charles owned and operated his own garages, car lot, wrecker service and junk yard for several years of his life. Charles retired in 2022.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Matthew McCauley officiating.

Charles’ request to be buried at the Valley Head Cemetery at Valley Head, West Virginia, will be honored.
