Ina Mae Hammonds Errington
ERRINGTON
Ina Mae Hammonds Errington, 79, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the home of her daughter and under the care of West Virginia Caring.
Ina was born Friday, Oct. 5, 1945, in Elkins, a daughter of Robert Hammonds and Nancy Chloe Amos Hammonds.
Left to cherish her memory are six children, Donna Atkinson and husband, Jim, of Beverly, Connie Hedrick and husband, Stacy, of Circleville, Kimberly Martin and husband, Eric, of Mill Creek, Daryl Johnson and wife, Sonya, of Dry Fork, Joshua Errington of Elkins and Heidi Errington of New Jersey; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Cutright and husband, Cletus, of Mill Creek, Linda Bennett and husband, Eddie, of Elkins, Bonnie Lanham of Mill Creek, Mona Kay Pritt of Bedford, Virginia; and best friend, Karen Gibson.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were daughter, Mary Van Aken; six siblings, Kathleen Mace, Cheryl Hammonds, Betty Lewis, Debbie Pritt, Jimmy Hammonds and Ronnie Hammonds; and three husbands, Darel Johnson, Robert Errington, and Jack Hammonds.
Ina attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed as a seamstress at Reidbord Brothers and then as a housekeeper at Snowshoe Resort. She was a hard worker and a workaholic. Ina loved flower gardening, camping and going for car rides with her sister, Bonnie. One of her favorite things to do was to go “ching-chingin” as she called playing the slot machines.
A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.
Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman. The Randolph Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ina Mae Hammonds Errington.
