Keith was born on Dec. 10, 1967, a son of Pauline Atladine Coger Barrett, who survives in Elkins, and the late Andrew W. Barrett. Keith was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1986 and was a member by heart of Jubilee Outreach Ministries. He had worked as a skidder operator in the oilfields.

Keith was a son, brother, father, grandfather and friend who left behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

He is survived by his three children, Misty Adkison and spouse, Cole George, of Middlebourne, Jesse Varner of Clarksburg and Melanie Varner of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Axel George, Kyra Varner and Natalie Varner; his sister, Leslie McCollam of Elkins; his nieces and nephews, Kasey Bennett of Mill Creek, Crystal Conrad of Elkins and Ben Phillips of Elkins.

Besides his father, Keith was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his sister, Becky G Smith.

Known for his warm and outgoing personality, Keith touched the lives of everyone he met. His years in the oilfield earned him a reputation as a hardworking and dedicated individual, he truly loved what he did in the patch, he especially enjoyed his time spent in what he called “confession corner”. Keith had a passion in racing, where he spent many hours at the track, living the dream. Many knew him by Burrhead, and many knew him by his CB handle “wildchild.”

Keith’s love and impact will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, and he will be remembered as a man who didn’t know a stranger.

Keith’s request for cremation will be honored.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with family and friends.
