Patricia Ann “Patty” Roy, 74, a resident of Parsons, West Virginia, departed this life early Sunday morning, March 30, 2025, at WVU Medicine’s Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, West Virginia, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Saturday, March 17, 1951, at Parsons, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Helen M. Owens Martin Roy.
She was married to Donald Lee “Butch” Roy Jr., who preceded her in death Feb. 11, 2022. They had celebrated 52 of marriage.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Debra Lynn Roy Davis and husband, Randall, of Thomas; her grandson, the apple of her eye, Jacob Scott Davis and wife, Tesla of Thomas; one brother, Charles Martin and wife, Sharon, of Parsons; one sister, Cathy Thompson of Georgia; brother-in-law, Mike Roy of Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Roy Leach and husband, Ernie, of Indiana, and Debbie Martin of Texas; many special nieces and nephews and a host a friends, that she enjoyed going out to eat and shop; and her beloved dog, Brandy.
Preceding her in death is a brother, Cliff Martin Jr.; and her father-in-law, Donald Roy Sr.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1969. Patty previously worked at the former Parsons Footwear and the former Performance Motors and was an employee of the Saint George Medical Clinic working as a receptionist, where she would greet clients with a smile and a kind word.
She had belonged to the Parsons Volunteer Fire Deptartment Auxiliary for years. She was a member of Saint John’s Church at Parsons, West Virginia. She enjoyed shopping and she loved to enjoy eating chocolate and was a very avid Steelers fan.
Patty was such a kind soul, always thinking of everyone else and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a loving and great “Mam” to Jacob. She loved her family with all her heart.
Mrs. Roy’s request for cremation will be honored.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 10 until 11 a.m., the service hour. Pastor Donna Bolinger will officiate and inurnment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, West Virginia.
