Shirley Ann (Wildman) Campbell

CAMPBELL

Mrs. Shirley Ann (Wildman) Campbell, 89, a resident of Belington, departed this life Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the United Hospital Center at Bridgeport, West Virginia. Death was following a period of declining health.

She was born Oct. 07, 1935, at Belington, a daughter of the late John Adam and Genevieve (Jones) Wildman.

Left to cherish her memory is one son, Richard “Rick” Campbell and wife, Nancy, of Morgantown; three grandchildren Angela Barnett and husband, James, Melissa Beatty and husband, Sean, and Johnny Campbell and wife, Scarlett. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Dale Campbell; and a son, John David Campbell.

Shirley attended the schools of Barbour County and was a graduate of Belington High School with the class of 1953. She was a protestant by faith and formerly attended the Lambert Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker all her life and was a member of the CEOS Homemakers of Barbour County. She also belonged to the Laurel Mountain Post 410 Ladies Auxiliary and The Order of the Eastern Star.

In her earlier years, she loved to bowl and she very much enjoyed going to bowling tournaments and also enjoyed raising a garden when she was able. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Per Shirley’s request cremation will be honored.

The family will receive friends on Saturday April 26, 2025, at the Talbott Funeral Home Chapel 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington from 2-3 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Barbour County CEOS C/o Betty Daugherty 7 Buckboard Lane, Philippi, WV 26416.
